Retial index covers many stocks, it is showing an open megaphone bearish pattern, about time to nail down more specific stocks, as sell signals kicks off (not yet, so this is a front run discussion for a better preparation), then, act on it accordingly,For going short, what are the best candidates in this sectors?
Many tanks,

stanley - That looks just like a chart of TGT

Best short for me in this sector has been Lazy Boy (LZB).
It's still good.

ODP.
Office Depot looks horrible.
You know, another way to play this is to short media stocks -- since radio, TV and newspapers depend mostly on retail firms for advertising dollars. CCU, WON, NYT -- everything in that sector, minus the satellite radio stocks since they're a "hot concept" right now.

SBGI.
Another fine radio stock to short -- anti-Sinclair campaign now underway targeting their advertisers.
