The simple geo-psychological disdain for all things American... especially our foreign policy, is the least talked about, but one of the most important reasons why our currency is plummeting.

People have choices to move to currencies they favor more highly, (Naturally a part of this decision to do so, will be their opinion of tne country itself) Thus, if you live outside of a country, and you disagree with their foreign policy, and you have the choice not to hold their currency, you would be prone to do so.
The trade deficit, the spending deficit... they are even more the reason, but the #1 reason is that as a furriner, U.S. foreign policy just pisses them off, and as a result they don't want to hold U.S. currency.

You're very right. I think, at least I hope that the rest of the world views the American people who voted for Bush and promote the war with some compassion for the fact that they're not too bright and they're overworked. Their brains are perfect petrie dishes for propaganda.

There is a lot of political commentary on B4 the Bell. Your post wasn't being ignored. It probably just hasn't been read by many people. Try B4. You'll have to register. Hope you do! Thanks for the thoughts, they're appreciated.

I dedicate this to all stoolies who are obsessed with the inflation, deflation debate, and dedicate so much of their time studying the matter. In the end, the value of the currency is in large part, due to Alan Greenspan's manipulations, which have created a lot of hot air. This has created a currency whoopee cushion, rather than a bubble. It'll all end with a blast, rather than a bang or a whimper. But I guess the question is whether the blast will spark the printing presses or the currency itself. And will it happen before or after Christmas. To illustrate my point:

I take it Santa's house represents the ultimate fate of the dollar??

We still are no where close to "point of recognition" I am around professors all day, and heaven forbid I should mention issues related to currency and economics.
Professors of International Relations and Political Science that don't understand the basics of economics... kind of scary if you think about it.....
