Silver high May 18,1987 at 9.745
The chart:
http://www.sharelynx.com/charts/CME-SilverHighs.gifBut, Adam Hamiliton says... "In today's dollars silver is currently near a 17-year high, which is certainly not a trivial event. But in order to exceed the real levels attained in its 1987 parabola, silver will have to approach $18."
http://www.gold-eagle.com/gold_digest_05/hamilton021706.htmlSpot silver is 9.78 today.. let's make it to a Hunt Brothers High
Gold Feb. 14, 1983 high is 522.4 and what price should it be at adjusted for 23 years of paper pumping.. anyone's guess?

We're at a point where supply entered... probably a point that needs watching for a reaction....
In gold it would be 570 to watch or 540 below

I bought some more RGLD for a trade at 30.65 but I must confess that I am baffled by the weakness - and getting uneasy with my core position that is now down 10%.
I am also completely baffled by the moves in the broads, blowoff top comes to mind though.
Listening to NEM ceo on Crapvision - says avg. price of gold now $120 higher now as opposed to 05' I believe him.

Dumped the RGLD at 30.82 for a $338 gain. Trying to collect acorns.

Well, my initial assesment for RGLD was that it looked weak and it broke out of an apex to the downside... and it also had cause at the time for a $7 move from $33.50 .. to either $39.50 or $26.50..
that was on Feb. 20
it's entering some support but not sure if it has ending action yet..

I also bot RGLD at the close today. I can see 30 then 28 or so then 26 or so. It's not easy buying weakness but the position is not large and I can take some heat from here. One would think they bled this patient to death already as I haven't seen anything this Dover Sole this side of Natural Gas.

in the short term, the sector is confusing, some things are making new highs, or close to it, while others are in correction mode. i will continue to hold until it is apparent the broads have topped. i have some dates march 2-6, then later in the month around the 23rd of march(for the broads). rgld, has me baffled. but i am not in a big loss 5% on the position so i will continue to hold as it is over sold. dharma

It may be confusing.. but there is interest in juniors... I guess that's all we need to know.. reason being that they all may become takeover prospects eventually... and somebody out there is gunna want to grow their reserves...

Yeah, I'm down 10% on my core holding of RGLD but that is nuttin' compared to the beatings I've taken in this sector and held through in the past. I've become a daytrader lately, and have pulled that loss down to about 5% as well.
I don't know when it will be apparent the broads have topped, I fear that someday sooner than later we're going to have a 5% correction in the broads for no reason or a 5% up move in the the POG.
I'm watching same store sales dribble in, most all of them down. Then comes the Challenger, Gray and Christmas and only 89,000 people lost their jobs and that was "better than expected" lowest since October.
Honestly, I don't know if the economy is slowing or is rock solid, but common sense tells me that the housing boom is over, and is starting a retreat that will destroy any economic growth. None of this matters, because they'll "print and prop". What better way to make the economy look strong than propping up the stock market?
Oil is creeping higher, I'm thinking we are going to see volitilty increase in all markets. Scary times.

Juniors and Silvers (especially silver juniors) always top out after the majors don't they? Still seems pretty cut and dried to me. Distribute into strength and wait for the .618 retracement.
I think the other commodity stocks will outperform silver/gold by and large over the intermediate term. JMHO. Anything can happen.

i remember reading about 29, nothing made sense, but the broads kept plowing to new highs, then when one day, the party ended.we are somewhere in 29.
now in the 78-80 run i was a very active participant, and i think that we are a ways off from going parabolic, w/lock limit 50 gold moves day after day. at this point there is some confusion(maybe its only on my part). butt i think that will disappear w/new highs. i have no doubts that ben is the man that will print, and print he will big time. its not a time to watch the dolar in terms of other fiat, butt to watch it in terms of gold/silver and stuff you can buy w/dolars. the dolar and all fiat are going to go down. that is crystal clear. dharma
