My Dad used to sing on occassion... "Somewhere over the Rainbow.. Blue Birds Fly"....
Is your Dad still alive?... I miss mine, but then the 2nd law of thermodynamics says all things degrade.. and apparently not too many seem to care that the "power" of paper is degrading at a fast rate....
I often seem to start off a month looking for a top... and here I am again... looking at HUI nearing some resistance.... but then it's only an index.... that one would have to get inside of to see just how the individual components are doing.... but isn't it kinda funny... we usually have a low to trade off of in the April/May time frame
Guess I might as well say... we could be close .. in time... to a high.. in everything...
Even Rainbow's peak somewhere ....
Don't let it hinder you.. it's only a fleeting thought till supply shows up....

I must confess, I've never owned USGL, and only traded TRE. I remember looking at TRE @ .80, but I was already fully invested. hindsight is 20/20. Wish I had put every last dime in TRE.
I'm looking for a market crash by September. Maybe next week.
Then again, I've been looking for a top in the RUT for months now. I'm taking my cash and converting it to Canadian dollars.
They've got a trade surplus, a bunch a oil, gold and silver and the Chinese knockin' on the door.
The USD is going to dump this year - hard.

tigs, i started charting cgref when you 1st mentioned it, and when it finally broke out of declinning resistance. i was set to buy it the next day and off to the races it went. awaiting the proverbial pullback. i like mcewen so i want to own usgl. he seems to know what he is doing. the guys over @gss seem to get in their own way. similar for cbj. managers do the job, the rest is pulling the ore out of the ground.
hadjin, i like mfn too. started to accumulate. will add on pullbacks.
if and when the market tops out, i think the miners will fall w/the broads and create a superb buying op. when the dolar goes down, it will take some time @ first. 1 and 2 type thing, but then watch out. dharma

Using a Pnf count on silver from the 8.80 area... there are two phases ... the first phase to 11 has been used up and the second can extend up to 12.90
and...
If Gold is in a jump mode over the 575 area.. the cause can go to 605.. then if the count is confirmed... next to 635-695
got it?

Sorry , TCG - didn't get the "Anders Addiction" chart. Obviously that wasn't GSS, I couldn't tell what stock that was.
TCG - you are not saying GSS is your largest holding????
Dharma - I think you are right about GSS, but I think that CBJ is starting to get their act together. They did turn a profit last quarter - largest ever. That being said, the stock has done very little, which could mean there is something that still smells bad enough to keep the big $$ out of it.
I also think the miners will get hurt in a serious downdraft, I am going to tread lightly and keep plenty of cash on hand. We'll see.

http://www.financialsense.com/Market/iossif/2006/0328.html"1. The bullion will break above resistance and rally to 630. In that case it will pull the XAU along to new marginal highs. If the bullion closes above 590, and the XAU can close above 144 over the next 5-10 trading days, then the odds will be better than even in favor of scenario #1, and we ought to expect the XAU to test resistance in the 150-160 zone"

Then buy CGREF which has been offered a buyout by USGL for the discount. One share CGREF for 0.63 shares of USGL. With USGL @ 9.85 that values each CGREF share at 6.2055 and they are trading at 5.40. McEwen is the CEO of USGL and also the Executive Chairman of CGREF, so one would have to conclude the deal is a safe bet.

It's the GREED factor and that the Mining shares might catch some of that dot com fever.. If they do, I'll happily leave lots on the table for the next guy; but not at these levels on the Mid Caps.
