Buyers are beginning to tiptoe back into the market but it's all very much softly-softly. All Ords -0.4% and currently testing support. There's only 3 green sectors and they have only minimal gains. Energy is leading, +0.3% and at the other end is Healthcare, -1.3%.
The miners aren't looking too bad: BHP and RIO are hovering around the flat zone and the golds are up around 2%.
In the oils, Woodside looking perky, +1.3% but Santos still marginally red, -0.4%.
Fairly red over in Asia: China's turn to do the dive, -2.5% and Nikkers -1.4%.

Wild Bear Causes Chaos in Bavaria
Wildlife officials were initially excited about the first brown bear sighting in Germany in 170 years. But after the furry beast began ripping up sheep, smashing into chicken coops and robbing beekeepers of honey, many Bavarians aren't so sure anymore.

"All he's really interested in is honey and sheep."

A down and sideways day like much of Asia. Buyers cautiously returned but there were enough sellers around to suppress the action. All Ords closed -0.4% and Energy remained the leading sector, +0.8%. Healthcare was still starring at the other end, -1.6%.
In the miners, BHP and RIO remained in a broad trading range ending the day -1.4% and -0.8% respectively. The golds staged a mild recovery, all closing up.
The oils did fairly well considering: Woodside closed +1.8%, Santos -0.7% and Caltex +0.5%.
Over in Asia, India is rebounding from yesterday's chaos, +1.8% but there is still a batch of reds, China -3.2% and Nikkers -1.6% among them.
UK/Europe saw a spectacular selloff yesterday but it looks like the bounce is back:

Cash becoming king as all else fails
LONDON (Reuters) - It's a problem for investors when equities tumble on worries about inflation and higher interest rates. Where are they going to put their money -- bonds?
Cash has suddenly become a hot item as previously high-flying assets such as stocks, emerging market debt and commodities have suffered in a harsh global sell-off.

So far so good on my large SMH and SWH plays...low risk imo with stops a few % below...will not hurt much if I lose....Ive calculated the possible hits....but the rewards in the short term will erase all losses on ltbh stocks and hopefully set me up to buy back in my favorites at better prices....
If successful I will have portfolio back to the highs AND be able to cash out and pick targets on favorites which are and will hopefully stay at much lower prices....and turn back again afterwards...
I bought some more BHP for my core port...based on the gap fill...
Bought PEIX, FCEL, BGO and GLG for short term plays....to add with many others already bought, treading water....
Wanted to note.....kick ass trading by some here...you all know who you are!!
A few others got clocked really bad and lost all their gains this year for sure....never fall in love with any stock......dont ignore the indicators which were being shown by many others....RISK REWARD is everything!! Now is the time you have a chance to get it back....well some of it!!
Since most like shortys plays....and he nailed it big time short..(I just simply sold to cash)....I wouldnt ignore what he is saying in his last comments on M2m.....its exactly what I think on a risk reward basis.......as I mentioned from my friends analysis on a possible cluster bottom or the possibility that after a bounce the dow would have more downside which would align with the comode stocks bouncing here then turning back down......probably aligns up perfect with the gap fills on GLG and BGO but who knows...
IMO, the guys best at value plays and actually studying fundamentals should turn over their plays to the great TA players and team up for maximum gains....we have just seen a picture perfect example of how that works....
Bought back HEC for round 3...no stop on the penny stocks...plan to watch what takes off the best today, pick entries for any small pullbacks and go long...
If the market turns back down today Ill tighten stops and wait till next week.....it has to bounce now....
Good luck to everyone. The info shared lately was extremely helpful and gave me alot of profitable ideas.

I have to agree with this. I went to cash and saved myself some serious pain. This
morning I have some gains as well as I went long a few things yesterday. Just dipped
a toe in. I think that these longs are just a short-term trade though and may just
bag them quickly.
That was some bounce in the QQQQs this morning. There's probably tons of

I have to agree with everything you said there Tzu. I can finally feel the blood returning to my head and the pucker easing out of my drawers this morning. I had my trading positions out of the metals at the top, but a little more attention to TA would have kept me out a little longer.
As it was I grabbed a few knives that I should have left fall. I kept buying and held fast, and I'm full boat long miners (ok, some FDG and DOC as well), the overall (funnymetal?) trend will rule all, but I could have done a lot better in the last two weeks.
Much thanks and best of luck to everyone...

Over the last few days I've had to edit a couple of "lectures." Let me make something perfectly clear. We are here to share with one another. Preaching and lectures are not welcome. Don't dredge up muck from the past, and don't dare criticize the trading approach of any member of this board. If you like someone's approach, complement them. If you don't, then shut the hell up.
I will not tolerate criticism, direct or indirect, openly hostile, or slyly passive aggressive, of anyone contributing their work to this board. That goes for generalities like "certain people say so and so."
I thank each and every one of you for what you have contributed regardless of whether I agree with you are not. Everyone should be grateful that we get a variety of views here.
No one knows what the future holds. Not me, not you, or anyone else. The guy who got it wrong this week may be the guy who has it absolutely right in the big picture. When you live in a glass house, it's best not to throw stones.

Dear Doc,
Well the white ones are in the Arctic and the really big ones like photography and live on an island in Alaska. There are many different coloured ones in the US and Canada. Australia has a small one, but it's mutant and sleeps a lot because it takes drugs. Asia has some cute ones including a penguin coloured one that gets called names like Ping Pong or Ding Dong.
