Why not bet on this.....for one thing, but also trade support and resistance on anything you choose? You don't know where the buy/sell signals are going to emerge...nor do I, but seek them as they happen, according to a system. Isn't that how it always works/should work...for traders, at least?

Could be wrong, I feel gold needs more time to consolidate if it is going to take out the old high and fool the long term holders. Low may probably be in on HUI but it may end up in trading range till late 20007

Feed, quite a few responses, eh? laugh.gif

"You feel"........?

What technical evidence do you have? Why not early 2007 or late 2006, etc.?

Since you ask me why late 2007 not early, each consolidation has taken nearly twice as long also the Bullish period. If its true then low is now the Bull Run which may turn out to be double top then the final leg down before the super bullish period commence.

Last year I had some response and not many were bullish on China, This year you are the only one. Hope we get more response and Ideas. biggrin.gif dry.gif

China was an easy call.

So were others, e.g., biotechs are the best performing tech sector, bar none; almost at all-time highs and in an ascending triangle.
Also, this sector is a great 'speculative index'.

Continue to watch it.

And now....HMOs just broke out of a huge base. Nobody's talking about it.....just like utilities in 2000, eh?

Big Pharma also just broke out of a huge base; no discussion about this either; bullish.

Did anybody buy Tel Aviv when the bombs were falling?

There is always a taxi leaving the stop; u just need to scan for them.
Opinion is not very helpful, imho.

Idea is to pick one winner for next 12 months to maximise profit, so it’s only me and Meta,

Maybe everyone is a day trader and have no clue where market is heading.

Yep, always challenging but that is one of the most important exercises to do at the end of the year. I was really confident about the chemical and food sectors for last year, but they took off this year.....the watch lists are important.
Interestingly, if none can be identified, u can always swing the NDX, for example. This year, it was basically 3 trades ...long, short, long (and maybe short again, if some of the key indicators rollover) and about 1000 unleveraged points. Not too bad.

Gold has broken out and is now on a full buy, so that cycle must be respected, too. Many other possibilities.
