Early closing for us today and the market is fairly quiet as would be expected in pre Chrissy trading. All Ords drifting aimlessly, currently -0.1% with sectors mixed. Materials is doing another dive, -1% with Consumer Staples up the most, +0.7%.
Miners are taking another pounding: BHP -1%, RIO -2.4% and the golds are down 1-2%.
In the oils, Woodside -1.7% and Santos +0.7%.

All Ords managed to finish the day with a blip up, +0.3%. Materials and Energy were the only red sectors, both -0.7% and IT moved into the lead, +1.5%.
In the miners, BHP and RIO remained around the same level as the morning post and in the golds, Newcrest moved up, +1.8% while Newmont remained bogged down at -2.4%.
The two big oils continued to diverge: Woodside -2% and Santos +1.3%.
Very quiet over in Asia with most bourses slightly down.

Sell signals were triggered yesterday.
The first was the Quadruple bottom break of support on the P&F.
The second was the Bullish percent. A sell signal is triggered if it falls below 70% and has also fallen 6 points.

I don't remember what time the options open up but hopefully shorty is actually on top now with writing those calls. That is how crazy those options are. He could have even nailed near the top of the reverse hammer that could print.

Spooz still ever-so-slightly above the uptrend channel that formed from Jan-May. It has spent all of Dec above it.
A move back into the channel indicates a deeper correx down to 50dayMA at 1393 or possibly the bottom of the channel now at 1385 or so. Check out action last Jan-Feb for clues.
A move below the channel indicates a Real McCoy selloff. See May/June for clues.
So the Spooz could fall another 20-25+ points and still be "OK". But no more than that. IMO, of course.

Most of the restaurant stocks I follow are taking the pipe bigtime. None of them got close to their old spring 2006 highs. Major tell, IMO, of consumer spending strength going forward. Check out PNRA, PCFB, RRGB, CAKE.
Many of these stocks got a "gas price selloff" bounce, but they are heading southbound in a hurry again. The fast-fooders holding up better. Guess the $1 burger places are holding up while the $8 burger places ain't.

Looks like 42.77 is the next stop for the Q's based on the breakdown from that bear flag on the hourlies. If that gives way, should find support around 41.90-42.00. Plenty of chart congestion b/w 42.00-42.75 from Oct.
Q's formed a triangle and did a faux breakout which failed. Then backkissed the breakdown and it was off to the races. Traditional guesstimates would indicate a $2 dump (width of triangle) from the point of the backkiss at $44. That takes the Q's to $42, not coincidentally the Election Gap.
A move down to 42 would completely erase the Election Erection Rally. That would be no surprise since the boner move off Nov 6 ran out of steam on Nov 27 and has been running on fumes since then.
If the Q-balls get back to 42, it would mark the third straight time that the Q's have given back their entire Nov-Dec rallies.
