Dec. 18 was a Monday and so far it's marked as a short for the market on my charts. Whether it turns out to be a near term scalp depends on the pigmen.

Oct. 4 the Dow broke to new highs along with the SPX and commodities had a low. If commodity stocks pullback, then I'd be watching to see if it directly affects the market of stocks.

Futures chart feeds look messed up-

On Globex-

USA Stocks up, less than a point on SPY and QQQQ.

Uncle Buck down against the Yen, Euro and Sterling.

Globex

Crude Earl back over $63
alceringa
US$ Gold in Asia, Yen Gold and Rupee Gold all up.

Story

Also, Monday in Shanghai was the first day of trading of minimum 100 gram Gold contracts versus previous 1 Kilo minimum size. Hope is to attract smaller players into the market.

Also in Shanghai-

New record stock market closing high.

Copper un-changed.

Good Morning and Happy Boxing Day!

Here in Canada most folks have the day off again today. Retailers are open of course.

We had a crowd of 13 at the house last night, and had a great time. As the only American and Anglophone in a family of Quebecois, I am always struck by how much we Americans, or at least some of us, miss out on by being so focused on work, as opposed to family, friends, and simple camaraderie. My wife planned the day and evening full of not only food, but games and song. French Canadians love to get together, pull out a couple of guitars, sing folk music, have a few beers, and fill a room with music and laughter! I've seen this not just with my own family, but plenty of others. There's absolutely no self-consciousness about it. Everyone joins in and has a ball.

Our little house on the prairie is just that-- little smile.gif. We built a little apartment for my wife's parents on the lower level (they live here year round). The first floor is just a "little great room", kitchen and bath, and we have just two bedrooms, bathroom, and my office on the second floor. In spite of that "coziness", everybody stayed last night. There were air mattresses and sleeping bags everywhere.

It was a late night, and only now are people starting to stir. I awoke just after dawn to see that it was finally snowing. The fields and farms below us and the hills in the distance are covered with a thin blanket of white. The snowplow has already gone by. I expect I will see him several times today. He may be the only vehicle we see all day. Yesterday I only noticed two cars go by. There are always more walkers than cars. I recognize a dozen or so regulars hiking past my window each day, plus always a few strangers, as they enjoy the view, and the peace and quiet of our country road with the incongruous name, 109e Rue (109th Street).

It is just so peaceful here. It's good to get away from the noise, traffic, and stress of living in South Florida, even if it is late December.

Although I do expect that after another week or so of freezing my ass off, I'll be ready to go back. biggrin.gif

I'll be in and out today, and will be checking in here. WSE Pro Precious Metals report coming up shortly.

Sounds like you found a good'un, better keep her, and that you two have made a home in a sweet spot. I miss that kind of fun, which seems much easier abroad than here. Very cheery holiday to you and the Mrs. biggrin.gif

Doc, a snow mobile, 10 layers of clothes, hot chocalte and a blazing fire upon return sounds like an unimaginable blast.
Actually a 2 dollar trash can lid on the top of that hill sounds like it would do the job!

I started a new thread on LOB I am going to be working on.

You can just imagine the hushed silence when you look at those pictures. Very peaceful.

If you squint you can see an inverse H&S and JoLo bottom on the Q's.
DrStool
actually, the open stretch in the first photo is just below the bottom of the municipal ski station. This is the first real snow of this freakishly warm season, but we might see a few skiers down there in the days to come.
DrStool
This is the quietest day I have ever seen on this thread on a day when the market was open.

yeah, wow .. I'm one of three right now.. I finally achieved something !!

Thanks for the relaxing visuals Lee. Best of the new year too.
DrStool
Salt truck just went by.

Plows 3, Salt trucks 2, but still plenty of time.

Wait, that was a combo plow/salt truck. Just came up the hill.

DrStool
Wow! This IS exciting!

I miss Drano. If he were here we would at least be on page 2.

Yes, Drano was the yeast in the sourdough of life! Perhaps Doc killed him. Perhaps Drano was Docs alterego. laugh.gif

Of course he's caustic, he's...

DrStool
Or perhaps he's a she!

No idea what happened to Drano. Hope all is ok.

I bet he, or she, moved into a new treehouse and hasn't got net service yet.
