A US artist and inventor has come up with his latest creation - meat shorts.

Kasey McMahon, 34, from Los Angeles, says the shorts are intended for US vice president Dick Cheney.
He told Ananova: "Dick Cheney definitely has the figure for them. I think he'd look rather fetching in them, yes?
"Also, my little brother is in Iraq right now (not kidding about that one). I don't quite know how to deal with that, consequently, things like meatshorts for Dick Cheney and the GOP (US Republican Party) happen."
He has posted instructions on how to make them on the www.instructables.com website.

AllOrbs up today, but still in a 6 week sideways crawl.

Don't really understand the ins and outs of this, but Sumitomo Metal announced lower copper smelting and refining pricing and promptly tacked on 2%+ in Tokyo.
BHP made a similar announcement and promptly U-turned after an opening gap up to end barely up for the day.
Otherwise, all sectors green on the ASX except for REIT's. Smallcraps still lagging.

Severe storms that hit New South Wales last week have shutdown coal loading at Newcastle, Oz's largest thermal coal loading port.
BHP, Rio Tinto and Xstrata have all declared "force majeure" on deliveries to Souteast Asian utility customers.
FDG ended the day with a 3 handle for the first time in months. Could get a little boost here on the "force majeure" declarations in OZ.

China Factory Investment Surges, Adding Rate PressureBy Nipa Piboontanasawat
June 15 (Bloomberg) -- China's factory and property investment surged, fueling speculation that an interest-rate increase is imminent after exports, industrial production and inflation accelerated.
Fixed-asset investment in urban areas rose 25.9 percent in the first five months from a year earlier to 3.2 trillion yuan ($420 billion), the statistics bureau said in Beijing today. The increase was 25.5 percent in the first four months.
The final indicator for May underscores the government's failure to cool an economy that grew 11.1 percent in the first quarter. Premier Wen Jiabao this week highlighted the risk of an investment rebound and signaled that the central bank may need to raise borrowing costs for a third time this year or further curb bank lending.

Does Fording ship to Asia? I thought that they had tons of business just with the US and one of their big advantages was their ability to ship via rail.
Speaking of turning worms, any thoughts on MOT?

AP Centerpiece: Super Rich Seek New Heights in Pampering, Price Tags and One-of-a-Kind Items
NEW YORK (AP) -- Forget about the $350 stilettos. Shoes with status these days come with $1,000 price tags. And $600 handbags have become so bourgeois. A-listers don't want to be seen with anything costing less than $5,000.

Oil close to 68.
I admit that I know nothing of oil or energy business, other than that it' has been manipulated by Arabs and Texans with our government complicity since 1970's as a matter of our national security
and oil profits. But, I have to wonder about oil service stocks( especially drillers, seismic exploration, etc) as they will hit a wall of rising costs exceeding benefits. We could see increasing oil service revenues, but falling earnings, in a manner that is axiomatic to gold mining. In fact, this is what happened in Russia, where foreign firms were kicked out after series of costly overruns in Sakhalin oil region.
While integrated oils, refiners and marketers will probably do ok, I think that SLB, HAL, BHI, etc. will show eroding profits as they're going to be hitting many dry wells and operate in increasingly difficult and competitive environment.
