It looks like the Rusty or the Qs are the place to be for the shorts. The way the CNBSers are touting the techs, they are probably the place to be short.

Attention stoolies.

There's an easy way to imbed a YouTube or other flash video in your post.

Use the BB Code
CODE
[flash=550,400]url here[/flash]

The trick is finding the url to the video. It's found as shown in bold in the embed tag from the YouTube site.

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YpffwVMUwhY&hl=en"></param>
<param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YpffwVMUwhY&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Put that between the FLASH tags and add .swf to the end. Voila, you will have a YouTube post.

As such

Drano
So how was trading today?

DrStool
I like the sign that said Go To Chase and Close Your Accounts.

If protesters realized the power they had this could be dangerous. Just imagine 10,000 protesters going to Chase in one day all withdrawing all of their cash.

It would have to be done on a stealth basis, no pre-publicity, otherwise the bank could just have the Fed lined up for backup in advance. No, this would need to be spontaneous. Have everyone show up at 9 AM Monday morning at 3 or 4 branches in midtown in close proximity to 30 Rock and all the other network news operations. They are all within a few blocks of there.

I'm not suggesting that they should do that, but if they ever got organized and tried it, I suspect that the effects would be pretty spectacular.

We all should record our own video rants and post them from time to time. laugh.gif

They just got thru penalizing me for Greenspan's other bubble. I am getting tired of paying for this crap and all the while buying power is going down faster than paris hilton in front of a camera. Meanwhile I received my Social Security Statement from the government. It admonishes that I should save and invest because SS was not meant to finance retirement completely. Meanwhile, Bush et al are saying spend spend spend, here spend this 600 bucks too or we are doomed. Sounds like a lose-lose deal to me.

An interesting thing happened yesterday. My colleague in the next cubicle asked me if I was a "goldbug". I ask, what's up. He wanted price data for London close fix for gold for the last 35 years. I told him the website of kitco where they have a long series of prices for last 10-15 years. The interesting part was that he had never shown any interest in gold till yesterday. He was very upset that Fed had decided to bail out BSC. He want to analyze gold charts and buy some biggrin.gif .

Looks like Ben has sounded the horn and people are waking up one by one, thanks Ben blink.gif

Home owners don't need no stinkin' provisions. They own their homes. They paid for them.

The morans in them pictures are not home owners. They're home debtors. Also known as ho moaners. They did not pay for their homes. They rent their house from a bank. The bank is their landlord. They think if they moan then their landlord will give them somethin' fer nuthin'. Or they plan to stop paying their rent and walk away. Nobuddy would walk away from a home that they own.

House prices are insane in OZ.

Especially Melbourne.

I spent Easter in Melbourne and couldn't believe the prices.

The houses two doors either side of my grandmothers house both just sold.

One was a duplex that went for $785k.

The other was a stand alone revolting older style brick house that sold for $1.3 million.

$1.3 million.. blink.gif blink.gif

no wonder people can't pay their mortgages.

I expect this trend to accelerate in coming months.

Record numbers default on homes

MORE Victorians are losing their homes because of higher interest rates and rising living costs, with new figures showing mortgage defaults at a seven-year high.

JPMorgan Chase Acquires Bear Stearns In Tedious-To-Read News Article

NEW YORK—As a volatile market reacts to news of the Bear Stearns fire-sale deal with a surge in stock prices but reduced bond yield, officers from JPMorgan Chase announced Monday that they were close to finalizing plans to purchase the securities giant in an incredibly complex series of financial maneuvers and obscure legal jargon that can only be described in the most mind-numbingly dense and unreadable way. Successfully adding yet another infuriating block of text to an already indecipherable paragraph, some investors said they hoped to stave off bankruptcy for Bear Stearns, which, during last year's impossible-to-write-about mortgage crisis, saw its value depreciate almost as quickly as readers' interest in this story. "Critics on the equity side have no economic standing because the deal valuation is based on intrinsic pricing models," said analyst Jack Pinard, only further bogging down the news for anyone who might be remotely interested in grasping what the fornicate is going on. While speculation spread on Wall Street that shareholders might angle to boost the selling price beyond JP Morgan's very low but federally guaranteed bid, others claimed to be absolutely amazed that you even made it to the end of this sentence.

Among the many technical problems i have, either permanent or episodic, are those involving a sound card(?)...It seems no sooner do i get it right when of a sudden it begins hiccuping 10 second sound bites followed by 10 second silences...

Then by chance two days later I CAN HEAR THE aOL RADIO NORMALLY..

tHEN Jimi has a video of which all i can see is a blur.....

Then that wonderful Bernard the Bear......

I wonder why someone doesn't manufacturer something workable for those of us who arrived late at the party..

Shorty--Could you please take a look at CALVF.OB once more and read the news about it and tell me why this wont go very much higher at some time---originally heavily into Gold struck Cobalt and recently signed four contracts with the chinese taking every single pound of cbalt starting in 09...

Yoshaviah recod this six years ago--it hit eight dollars in 98.....for the life of me i'd love to find the flaws in this one...
