It looks as if he is playing a similar putter as Phil Mickelson but in a DFX version. Can anyone tell me if I am right or if it's something else, and if it is a DFX XG #9, is it currently available to the public? Thanks

Rory has the following in his bag:
Driver: Nike SasQuatch Sumo 9.5*
Woods: TaylorMade Burner TP 14.5* 3 Wood, but has it covered under an SasQuatch headcover
Hybrid: Nike SasQuatch Sumo Hybrid
Irons: (3-P) Nike Ignite Irons
Wedges: Nike SV Tour 55* SW and 60* LW
Putter: Odyssey White Hot XG #9
Balls: Nike One Platinum
The putter is almost the same as Mickelson's, but I don't think you can buy that exact model publically. You may need to order it. I work at a local Golf Town, so I can take a quick peek at the system for you if you want. I'll e-mail you back when I know for sure.
He chose the three wood from TM because he explains he's been through a ton of 3 woods, and he really enjoys this club.
He also recently traded his 18* Adams Idea A2 hybrid for the new Nike SQ hybrid because of his deal with Nike. He has a 12 club rule with them.

Now please do not misunderstand this post I am not questioning if your information is correct but how you get the information.
I read all the time on this forum, statements like the one you made above about Rory having a 12 club contract or Tiger can play any club they want Now for years the industry standard was seven clubs .
My question is where do you get such information as to what is in a certain players contract?
If you would have not said it, and I have no reason not to believe you. I would not have imagined a player of Sabbatini's status signing a contract that locked him to 12 clubs.

I think it had to do when Sab found a 3 wood he really liked (TM Burner TP) and he had to add another nike club to the bag due to contractual reasons... perhaps that's where the 12 club thing came in?
It was a while back...so it's vague, but I can remember something along those lines.
As for Tiger, it's been reported that Tiger's deal was that he could play whatever he wanted from the very start. Thus forcing Nike to produce quality clubs and pursue innovation for him.
If it was there from day 1, I doubt it would change by now.

I find it very interesting that he plays Ignite irons.

I thought so too, but after thinking about it, pros check their egos at the door when it comes to getting paid. I think most will hit whatever despite the look if they can win with it.

I am curious what rory will play in 2008. I wonder if he will play the sumo irons or the slingshot 4d irons?

Well in the post I have posted, the person that posted this information actually talked face to face with Rory and he spilled the beans.

With Nike:
Driver: Nike SasQuatch Sumo 9.5*
Woods: TaylorMade Burner TP 14.5* 3 Wood, but has it covered under an SasQuatch headcover
Hybrid: Nike SasQuatch Sumo Hybrid and an Adams Idea Pro once upon a time
Irons: (3-P) Nike Ignite Irons
Wedges: Nike SV Tour 55* SW and 60* LW
Putter: Odyssey White Hot XG #9 with a bronze finish
Balls: Nike One Platinum
Bag: Nike SQ Staff
His iron shafts were DG-X100's I believe. His driver shafts varied a lot, sometimes it was Redboard, sometimes it was a Harrison Pro 2.5 shaft. The Harrison was in play more often that not in his driver. His Taylormade 3 wood was the stock X-Stiff TM shaft. His SQ2 Woods were V2's, Blueboards, Redboards etc, they changed a lot.
He really seems to like the DD2 grip, he played it in his driver, and his wedges with Nike.
Adams:
I'm really not sure of a ton now. Just the A3 Irons, Adams Staff Bag, Callaway golf balls, and an Insight driver is all I know. Still has the Odyssey XG #9 with the bronze finish though.

The 4250 is a Tour Only job, not sure, think it was a proto for the Bty. The pics from the Buick look like the Bty 4350, though there is some extra text on the sole of the club

i was talking to the guys at adams golf today and they actually told me that the heads of his a3 irons are no different from the ones that you can get at any store the only difference is that he has the 4 and 5 iron where as you would have to order them seperately which is what i plan on doing! just so everyone knows that rory plays irons that you and i can play with literally no problem what so ever. yeah!

The putter pictured has a custom sightline on the topline not on the flange like the retail model. I do not believe you can purchase this exact model of putter, I do like finish though. In fact something about the sightline looks funny, almost like it is drawn on, not ingraved or carved into the head. Didn't he use a marxman that was painted/ sharpied bright pink or red last year. Then again maybe I am just crazy.
