As always this site has the goods!
I'm not a fan of the irons though.

I imagine they will sell well because so many people want to play Titleist that have no business doing it. Any word on a price point on these?
EDIT: I would like to see more shots of the combo set please.

Hmmm...When did Titleist get into the yard tool business?
Those are some serious shovels. Do you think Home Depot will pick up a Titleist account?
Not for me, but I'm sure many folks will be all over these.

Can't say I have seen a Titleist iron with that thick of a top line. From setup they don't look too bad to me, seems to be a minimal amount of offset with a nice shape, but the cavity area looks to busy to me. Not to sound petty but I want something that looks good at address and in my golf bag.

Not a fan of these irons at all. But the inside info is still great during the weekend foursome!!

I'm suprised at how thick the topline is. That isn't what I think of when I think Titleist. The address pics kind of remind me of my old Callaway irons with a little less offset.
Edit: I want to see the combo set too!

Those look like macgregor knockoffs.

Well, they aren't. It seems there is a role reversal for Titleist and Cobra though.
I can see my father picking up a set of these and thoroughly enjoying them.
Thanks for the really greatpics! ^^

No worries Mizuno!

suprisingly chunky and ugly. thanks for the photos; at least we can all go shopping on boxing day without worrying that we should wait for the new titleists....

AP1s are cast irons. They are entry level performance irons. I will go into more later. Titleist is very aware that they went out of the box with this design but, they think ultimately its about feel and performance and they say that both of those factors cannot be denied by anyone whose tried them. The AP2s I will post shortly and they expect that to be in the majority of better player's bags. There is also a reason behind the the thicker topline but, I've posted pictures of the ZM and I think those irons are targeted to those here who are use to the thin toplines. Also, don't worry, the the 695CBs will still be orderable via Special Order. MB are replaced by ZM.

I think these will be very successful, Titty needed a set like this in the line-up. They do look a little chunky, but so do other iron sets in this niche. I actually like the cast construction too.

they look like my OS2 from address
its quite uncharacteristic of titleist to produce shovels like these
i guess it would mean that higher hcp players will get an opportunity to play titleist clubs
since titleist have marketed themselves to be more 'players' focused
thanks for the photos gxgolfer!

This is being touted as the dominant Titleist iron on all Tours next year. Meaning that Pros and staffers that have tried it can't find anything wrong with it supposedly.

I am working on an article that will release specifics but, they are "premium" irons ala Callaway X forged.

Those look heaps better then the AP1s. I don't understand why they called these 2s and the AP1s 1s, i think it should be the other way around. Anyways, hopefully they play a little better then they look, just don't like that roundedness they've gone for, looks very callaway x series to me

it is funny how you all seem so shocked at the fact ht titleist is making high handicap clubs. you are all forgeting that the 775 were high handicap award winneres. btw, i do agree, the are u-g-l-y. however you het them well they will prob start to look a little better lol.

In all honesty, I wouldn't play them, but my Dad could stand to. Kudos to Titleist for expanding their club horizons.

I don't see a problem with these at ALL. Of course most of the 5 handicaps aren't going to care about these, but Titleist doesn't expect you to. I say kudos for selling an iron with forgiveness WITHOUT a crapload of offset.
And THANK YOU for the pictures!

the ap1 looks like the love child from a set of pro combo os and cci cast and the ap2 looks like the love child of a set of pro combo os and a set of cci forged. if you told me these were the new nike irons i wouldn't think twice but for it to be titleist is deffinetly different for them.

Titleist simply decided that they actually want to sell some iron sets to the mass market of average golfers out there...these could do the trick.

It looks like there's a tungsten nickel blend in the sole that wraps around to the back of the cavity, and I can understand the tech there - get the weight low and back.
I'm not a big fan of the cosmetics, but far be it from me to dismiss a club because it's ugly. We'll see how it works.
