Tessali-Metaponto Open di Puglia e Basilicata Pics!!! Riva dei Tessali GC. Riva dei Tessali, Italy.

These Pictures are of the European Challenge tour. What we see here is a tour that is full of great talent and more free of commercialism. "Pure" comes to mind as much golf does in Europe. I like showing these types of events to add balance here. Amateur events, Nationwide, Challenge, and smaller tours shows a little more use of equipment that might fit the scratch player at your local club. Still doesn't show the weekend players tools but it does reflect a purity the PGA tour doesn't at times.

Egad's...........a couple of those bags had Callaway "game improvement" irons stuck in them. One even had a set of X-20 Tours. Wonder how those got in there.

Better not let "gibby" or "Montrove" see those pics. man_in_love.gif

Are these guys at the level that they would be sponsored by the big names, i.e. Cally, Mizuno, T/M?

I'm asking because if not, then it's cool to see what they play on their own. Lot's of Mizuno out there.

95% of these guys are not sponsored so what you see them using is mostly their choice. The normal trend has always been Mizuno for forged and Ping for cast but there's a lot of Callaway and Titleist making its way in now.

They're allowed mate but who's going to pay them? Not a lot of money going on here i'm afraid.

The guys normally just use whatever trolley's are on offer at the course.

Other than the top 40 on the Challenge Tour most are assistant pro's. They will be back in the shop Mon/Tuesday. Costs a lot to fly all over Europe and hotels so have to save on some things such as caddie's. I would say 70% have caddie's though.

thanks for the info guys, ive never played any tournys over there so i didnt know how it worked but now i do so thanks again

I love that first picture! It really captures the essence of golf...don't get me wrong - the other pics are great but that first one is beautiful!
