No, the wedges are Vokey special grinds.
I thought the lofts were 54* & 60* but I could be wrong. I've seen him using 2 V-grinds with different colour V's stamped all over the wedges and I recently saw the exact same thing with 2 P-grinds. There are pictures somewhere round here.
He also alternates his 2 iron with a Titleist 906F2 18* with a Grafalloy Prolite 3.5 shaft.

I don't think the stamps are "V's", I think they're the design Ian is using for his clothing line. Just a guess though.

Hi mate,
I know what you mean but I think they're definately V's. There's a recent copy of GolfPunk with an interview with him at home and he's standing next to his bag. They're pretty visible. There's definately some pics of them round here somewhere. I'll try and find them.

Does anyone else find it unusual that he plays x100's in his irons but only stiff shafts in his woods?

Hi mate,
I didn't spot that. I know for a fact that the Grafalloy Blue in his driver is X so I can only presume that the fairways are also X. Must be an error on his website.

Hey villa,
I figured that that was the most likely reason but thought that you would know exactly what he has ;-)

Yeah, his webpage is all screwed up.
Any photos yet?

http://cobratourblog.com/category/cobra_tour_pros/About half way down there's a picture of Poulters bag with a 54* wedge with U's stamped all over it. I saw a picture earlier of him using one with S's stamped on it. Can't find the bloody pictures now! I think he gets one of the Vokey guys (or Bob himself) to stamp the letter of the grind all over the wedge.

Those white staff bags he and Cam have are pretty sick too.

Those Cobra bags are sick. Boy, comparing them to the Titleist ones in the back ground, Titliest better get on the ball. Doesn't Titleist still own Cobra as part of the Accusnet Co.? The Cobra ones in play at Oakmont are real sick. They match perfectly with Ian's wardrobe.
Thanks for the pics!

Yeah, Cobra still falls under the Acushnet umbrella. The Open bags do look great. Poulter played well today, nice outfit too!

My swing coach plays X in his irons and S in the driver/3wd! He was a Hooters tour guy for a while. I personally hit the V2X a long way-have not tried the S. I really don't think any of it means a hill of beans unless tested otherwise. In the past, Cobra has had very large tolerances for what is S/R/X. We sent stock S300 back that actually tested on the very low end-smilar to R400 but within "spec" for Cobra.

What's wrong with having x flex irons and stiff flex woods, it just means that he wants more accuracy with his irons and more length with his woods - it makes sense. I use reg flex woods and S300 irons and I don't see the problem.

There's nothing wrong with it Shaitan. It's just unusual.

I spose - on the other hand I wish Cobra would release those blades, they are looking mint in the satin finish.

omg, those blades in the satin finish are SO SWEET i cannot believe cobra wont release those they would be in my bag so fast

Jun 16 2007, 06:54 PM
Yes I believe a lot of people would have those in there bag if cobra came out with them. Cobra could really jump into the high end market with TM and Cally with those.

Jun 20 2007, 05:27 PM
Yeah, the satin irons are killer. I'll take those and one of those US Open bags the boys had at Oakmont.

I would sell my own soul to get my hands on a set of those satin MB's

It wouldn't surprise me if Cobra keeps saying "no" to all these MB inquiries just to build more hype. It would seem like a good marketing ploy. Keep teasing the public by putting them on tour and then finally release them....kinda what they already did with the Speed Pro drivers

Hey was following Ian pretty closely on Sunday and noticed the designs on his wedges and that he has appeared to have changed to a FJ glove with a pink section to match his pink shoes and pink raintop

Stop the press, I need an FJ glove with the pink insert, someone help!

FYI... anyone looking to get one of the headcovers is more than welcome to check on ianpoulterdesign.com. I got one for myself last Christmas and with shipping from Europe, it cost me almost $50. Worth it to me since he's my favorite golfer, but I ordered the original one with the black visor... wish I would have waited and seen the pink one.
Side note... has anyone seen a website or anything that actually has price listings and stocks his clothing line here in the states? I've sent a couple emails asking the "stockists here in the states to pass along any info but have not gotten any replies. Funkygolfgear.com doesn't have anything listed as of yet... any leads would be much appreciated.
